Title:Conservation Techniques Throughout the Caribbean

About the speaker:

Joe Wasilewski is the director of the Serpentarium at Parrot Jungle Island in Florida and the director of Natural Selections of South Florida, Inc. He is a past president and founder of the Everglades Herpetological Society and a past president of the International Iguana Society. Joe has been involved in many herp related enterprises, including for instance monitoring the American crocodile population residing within cooling canals of Turkey Point Nuclear power plant for the Florida Power & Light Company, working as a consultant for film and TV projects and educating the public about wildlife and natural history. Joe has also contributed to a wide range of research projects, including studies of the population dynamics of the Komodo Dragon, of Diamondback Terrapins, American Alligators, and various island iguana species (Cyclura spec.).

Joe will also speak at the MHS Holiday Banquet on December 6, 2008.
