About the Minnesota Herpetological Society

The Minnesota Herpetological Society (MHS) is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization open to anyone with an interest in amphibians and reptiles.

The purpose of the MHS is to:

Further the education of the membership and the general public in care and captive propagation of reptiles and amphibians.
Educate the members and the general public on the ecological role of reptiles and amphibians.
Promote the study and conservation of reptiles and amphibians.

To achieve these goals, the MHS holds regular monthly meetings, publishes a newsletter, conducts public outreach and educational events, awards grants in herpetological conservation and research, maintains an active listserve, and publishes this website.

Monthly Meetings - A general meeting is held the first Friday of every month (unless there is a holiday conflict) at 7:00 PM in room 335 of Borlaug Hall on the University of Minnesota, St. Paul campus. Everyone is welcome to attend.
