This small toad has a grayish back is grayish with a little black and brown. Its belly is white but sometimes spotted. It has unusually large eyes and a spade (bump) on each hind foot. They are rarely seen because they burrow underground with the help of the spades on their feet. The only come to the surface during wet periods.
