Pronghorn
Antilocapra americana Length: 135 cm (4.5 ft.) Habitat/Range: Pronghorns are found throughout western North America in the Rocky Mountain range. They are very characteristic of shortgrass prairies. Eating Habits: Pronghorns feed on forbs and prairie shrubs. |

The pronghorn is a horned ungulate, or hoofed animal. Its horns curve backward and there is a short prong on the front. They are tan in color and the belly and lower jaws are white. They can weigh between 32-62 kilograms or 71-138 pounds. Pronghorns are sociable animals and live in small herds. Often times, pronghorns have twins. |
