Coyote
Canis latrans Length: 122 cm (48 in.) Habitat/Range: It is common throughout North America, from Alaska to Mexico and Florida to southeastern Canada. It is well adapted to open brushy habitats. Eating Habits: Coyote are mostly carnivores and eat smaller mammals, like mice, voles, ground squirrels, rabbits, and they will also eat birds. They also eat a variety of fruits when available. Studies show that much of the livestock and deer that coyotes eat are carrion. They often live alone but will form groups depending on how much food there is. |

This is a slender, medium-sized dog. It has a bushy tail, pointed ears, and a pointed nose. Their sides and back are a yellowish gray. The feet and legs are yellowish but their underside is white. The middle of their back is black.
