What is Bell LIVE!
Bell LIVE! is committed to exciting students grades in 4-8 about the natural world. It consists of a hands-on, interdisciplinary curriculum, Internet components, and a live, interactive satellite broadcast. Each year, Bell LIVE! focuses on a different environmental science topic that integrates science into the everyday lives of students. The curriculum is available every summer and the live broadcast occurs mid-October every year.

Who is Bell LIVE!
Bell LIVE! is a product of the University of Minnesotašs Bell Museum of Natural History. For the past 125 years, the Bell Museum has been dedicated to exploring the diversity of life in the natural world, and to promoting an understanding and appreciation of nature through excellence in collection, education and research.

How can my school get the live broadcast?
Schools around the nation access Bell LIVE! through a variety of methods. Bell LIVE! is transmitted via satellite in KU and C Band. Schools or districts with satellite receivers can downlink the program or request that their local cable company downlink the show and send it to the school via cable. Some schools receive the program through a local college or service cooperative.

What topics were included in Bell LIVE! 2000?
Bell LIVE! explored the latest research in fish, water quality, exotic species, and the critters that keep this amazing ecosystem so dynamic. Students studied the shipping industry and the resources that are transported to and from faraway and how they affect the world in which we live. Bell LIVE! 2000 subjects included the dynamic processes of lakes including food webs, lake turnover, and large lakes influence on climate. Participating schools received the Great Lakes curriculum at the start of the 2000-2001 school year and the live broadcast occurred on October 12, 2000. How much does it cost?
$200 / school, unlimited students. The fee includes one curriculum, Internet activities and access to the live broadcast. Registered schools may also tape the program for future educational use. District rates are available.
