From Superior to Erie, the Great Lakes have provided a rich habitat for plants and animals for thousands of years. During the broadcasts we traveled back in time to witness the beginnings of the Great Lakes and how they have changed over time. Bell LIVE! explored the latest research in fish, water quality, exotic species, and the critters that keep this amazing ecosystem so dynamic. Students studied the shipping industry and the resources that are trasnsported to and from faraway and how they affect the world in which we live. Bell LIVE! 2000 also examined the dynamic processes of lakes including food webs, lake turnover, and large lakes influence on climate.

The live satellite broadcasts and host researcher chat sessions may be over, but Bell LIVE! is a year long program. If you are interested in learning more about the Great Lakes system, call the DISTANCE LEARNING office at 1-800-923-5548.
