Deanna Thompson
Currently, I am involved with an ongoing bison research project directed by Dr. Donna Stockrahm. I have completed a year working with figures collected from the summer of 1998, and also have had field experience collecting the bison data from this summer. The program is allowing other students and myself a hands-on opportunity of working on a biological study. We are also learning to work with new technology like the Global Positioning System in the field as well as in the classroom. Since I was a kid, I have always been interesting in science. I think I almost drove my parents crazy sometimes by bringing home all of the frogs, turtles, and any other animals that I could get my hands on. But, it did lead me to where I am now and closer to my goal of becoming a veterinarian. I have always thought of that profession as ideal--giving the chance to help not only animals, but also the people who love them. My plans for the future include attending a veterinary college after graduation from Moorhead State. I would like to specialize in small animal medicine and possibly any other new veterinary techniques that are arising such as acupuncture. As for now, I am attending school, working at a veterinary clinic, and assisting in research that will lead my future into the biological field. Meet the rest of the Bell LIVE '99 researchers
